In my world, there are two kinds of people; there are the stories and the storytellers. I do what I can to be the best storyteller that I can possibly be.
Several years ago, I purchased my first film SLR camera from a friend for $100. That moment changed my life forever. Since then, I have worked with and sought help and guidance from some of the best photographers that Kentucky and the world has to offer. I have been fortunate enough to be published in newspapers, featured on several professional photography websites, and I have even worked in tandem with one of the biggest names in the Bridal industry, David’s Bridal.
I like to think that my photography is extremely diverse. Any one day you can find me photographing an old country road lined with trees or a reflection in a mud puddle and the next can find me crawling around an abandoned house or in a private studio looking for that one perfect photo. Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don’t. Either way I have fun and like to think that the people I work with have fun, too.
With every day and every person that I meet, I grow as a photographer and storyteller. I spend countless hours talking with and learning about the people that I work with so I can better capture their personalities and character in their photographs. My favorite sessions are when the person I am photographing brings something that means the most to them in their life. This may be a person, a place, or any object that moves them. These photographs are always the best and are always my favorite.
It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words. Well…I’m working on a novel.
